Background/ Tutorial/ FAQ

The project is based on the idea of manipulating light to conserve the usage of energy spent on artificial lighting. A small town in Rjukan, Norway faced a problem of not receiving a sufficient amount of sunlight for half of the year. This was due to the fact that this town is surrounded by high mountains, making it hard for sunlight to reach the residents of a tiny town. To resolve this problem, three solar-powered mirrors were installed on the mountain tops. The mirrors have sensors on it that allow the mirrors to turn towards the direction of sunlight. The residents of Rjukan were thrilled to finally have the sun beaming upon them. This story was our inspiration to come up with the idea of Fenestration.
